Awarded by the US Department of Education a Recognized School of Excellence, Sierra Canyon School—Middle & Upper School believes that the guiding principle is that learning is a social-emotional endeavor, that character and wellness are essential priorities for creating well-adjusted students who develop empathy, altruism, and get-go attitudes when faced with challenges. This is shown with their programs of regular counselor meetings, a small student-to-teacher ratio of 9:1 for more focus, and Peak Week, which encourages the mingling of faculty and students outside the confines of the classroom. Sierra Canyon School also helps prepare students for college with their rigorous AP classes and regular counseling meetings with students starting in the 10th grade. Their admission requires:
1. Submitting an inquiry and completing an application on their website.
2. Recommendations from the current Math and English teachers as well as from a School Administrator.
3. Current school transcripts.
4. Boarding or Homestay applications if applicable.
5. ISEE & SSAT results (optional).
