Founded in 1990, Star Academy is a non-public, non-profit school in the Bay Area that offers personalized education to students who face challenges in traditional learning environments. The school provides specialized classroom instruction and access to experts in language arts, speech, math, occupational therapy, and emotional wellness. With individualized attention and a supportive atmosphere, students achieve significant academic growth and gain confidence. Star Academy also partners with the College of Marin, enabling students to take college courses while receiving additional academic and life skills support. The admissions process requires:
1. Completed online application
2. Educational achievement test with present level of performance in decoding, reading, comprehension, writing, math, science, and social studies
3. Current immunization record
4. Neuropsychological evaluation (if available)
5. School psychological evaluation (if available), including intelligence test results
6. Speech and language assessment summary (if available)
7. Occupational therapy evaluation (if available)
8. Copy of IEP (if available)
9. Copies of the last two recent report cards
Admissions into private schools are hard to get into due to its nature of having a more focused approach to students, giving way to smaller class sizes. We help Asian American families with services such as admissions consultations, test prep, and tutoring.
