The Chapin School is a separate day school for girls in kindergarten through grade twelve. Their instruction goes beyond a demanding and difficult course of study. In addition to community service, leadership opportunities, and the opportunity to direct their own learning or pursue studies overseas, students are exposed to arts and athletics activities. The college preparatory curriculum pushes high school pupils to think critically and analytically because they are taking advanced courses that will help them get ready for college life. Testing Policy: Academic Assessment: Applicants to Classes 8-10 will take an in-person Chapin academic assessment in math and English. Standardized test scores, including the ISEE and SSAT, are not a component of the admission process at Chapin. Please do not send scores to the Admissions Office, as they will not be included in the applicant file.
Character Skills Snapshot (CSS): Chapin requires the Character Skills Snapshot (CSS) to be completed by applicants for Classes 8-10. The CSS is administered through the Enrollment Management Association. Learn more about the CSS by clicking here. Families applying for tuition assistance may contact Kate Knight in the admissions office for a fee waiver.
Essay Questions: Applications require a parent and student questionnaire to be completed, which can be found on Ravenna-Hub application portal.
