Gilmour Academy is a private, coeducational Catholic college-preparatory day and boarding school located in Gates Mills, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland. Founded in 1946 by the Congregation of Holy Cross, the school educates students from Montessori through grade 12 and offers boarding beginning in grade 7. Open House and Event Dates: Family Campus Tour
Families are invited to tour the Gilmour Academy campus with a member of the Admission team. During the tour, families can ask questions and share more about their student. A Family Campus Tour is a required part of the application process for all grade levels. Students applying to grades K–12 are encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian. Tours are approximately one hour in length and can be scheduled through the student’s online application (accessible after completing the Inquiry form). For those preferring a virtual format, families should select a time slot and then contact the Admission Office at (440) 473-8050 or admission@gilmour.org to request a virtual meeting link.
In-Person Student Visit Days: Shadow Experience (Grades 7–12)
The Shadow Experience offers prospective students the chance to observe classes and meet faculty and students. While not required, this visit is strongly encouraged for applicants in grades 7–12. Students may request to shadow a particular Gilmour student or attend specific classes, based on availability and academic scheduling. Families are encouraged to schedule a campus tour or attend a Prospective Parent Coffee before the Shadow Experience. Sign-ups are available through the child’s online application once the Inquiry form is complete.
Virtual Visit
Families can explore the Gilmour Academy community through the school’s Virtual Visit page. Features include a virtual campus tour led by a young alum, videos from division directors, faculty, department heads, and program leaders, as well as parent testimonials and community highlights.

Testing Policy: Applicants must submit standardized test scores based on their grade level:
Grades 5–9: ISEE is required
Grades 10–11: SSAT or PSAT is accepted
Grade 12: SAT or ACT is required
International Applicants (all grades): TOEFL or Duolingo English Test is required to demonstrate English proficiency
